With feelings of joy and emotion, the graduation ceremony for the MBA in Shipping students of GMC Maritime Academy and Zurich Elite Business School, and other GMC students took place on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the Multipurpose Hall of the Palaio Faliro Municipality.

In his opening speech, Dr. Ioannis Giannopoulos (Cpt), owner of the Maritime Academy & GMC Maritime Training Center, welcomed the attendees and thanked the teaching and administrative staff of the schools for their hard work. Special mention was made of both schools’ commitment to excellence in professional education and the MBA in Shipping, designed to create new opportunities in the maritime profession.

Subsequently, representatives from shipping companies discussed the opportunities and challenges within the maritime profession. In the same spirit, the president of Zurich Elite Business School, Prof.-Ing. Adonis-Emmanouil Fragkakis, shared his insights on the value of the world-leading MBA in Shipping program in collaboration with GMC Maritime Academy and how the program has helped graduates advance their careers in the maritime industry.

The event was hosted by Antriana Paraskevopoulou, journalist and head of news programs at ERT. Among the attendees were graduates, including managers of shipping companies, chief officers, second officers, and third engineers. The venue was filled with the warm applause of families, educators, and management, marking this significant moment for the students.

After the degree-awarding ceremony, an audiovisual presentation was showcased, featuring messages from graduate officers currently serving on ships around the world.
